a rain spattered journal

hurray!

My blog got approved so now I'm visible to everybody. That's exciting! Things are looking upwards in a lot of ways!

Other than that, I joined a fun email network called restnotes made by two individuals called Mark Beasley and Elliot Cost. I absolutely love websites like this because it inspires me to create similar things! Kudos to them for making something lovely. I also installed the wind chime chrome app Mark Beasley made: it plays wind chime noises when data is loaded (I think?) on a website. It's nice on websites like this but on massive social media pages it goes absolutely wild unless pagination is enabled. As a wind chime lover I certainly don't mind this at all, but it really goes to show how mindfulness is important on the internet. It's important to take breaks so you don't get overloaded with information and negative news.

Yesterday I was also able to find a working version of flash player so I could play Lullatone's Raindrop Melody Maker. As a giant fan of Lullatone I was thrilled to get this working! Even if it didn't sound professional, everything I made was refreshing. Just like Mark Beasley's and Elliot Cost's restnotes website where you can click around and create tones, the Raindrop Melody Maker allows you to put together a series of beats and chimes that sound like musical raindrops. To get an idea of what that might sound like I recommend you check out Lullatone's raindrops plucking the last leaves from a tree, listening to raindrops knocking on a window and drip drops jumping on an umbrella. If you like those recommendations please check out their other work! Lullatone is a duo from Nagoya, Japan that make absolutely wonderful and whimsical music that I can't get enough of. Please give them a listen if you're looking for something enlightening!

Besides Lullatone and restnotes my plans for the rest of this week is to get into Gemini, which is a text based internet protocol that can only be accessed by an appropriate browser (or something like that). All of these things make me want to build my first text only website... or at least get started on it. It will be inspired by Lullatone, restnotes, Tru Luv and Volvox's various projects. I'm excited for sure!

Hurray! Productivity! Positivity! Art! Creation! It's time to reclaim the internet for wholesome and uplifting content!
